Boarding at Metropolis
Canine Visits at Metropolis
Metropolis offers “home away from home” care for select vizslas, depending on availability. Due to our own dogs, we prefer to cater to a limited number of well behaved additional dogs at a time. This enables us to provide the same standard of care as we do with our own dogs, and the same living arrangements. Our dogs are exercised daily, are primarily outdoors during the day with a range of activities, and are indoors in the evening. Our dogs that live in our kennels, and visitors, have dedicated kennels for privacy and shelter, padded bedding and sealed concrete runs inside an insulated building, with bones to eat, and the same exercise arrangements as our dogs in our house. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about these services.

Boarding Feedback
from owners who regularly board with us
I wanted to provide you with some feedback on some of the changes I’ve noticed in Luna since she has been boarding at Metropolis and participating in shows. The first has to be her excitement levels. As we both know, Luna is a very energetic and excitable puppy so I’ve noticed she has really calmed down since boarding with you. She still gets excited but now manages to relax more, which makes a big difference. I think the time she spends with your dogs as a member of the pack teaches her to calm down, behave and learn from your other dogs. The socialisation for her is great and it is evident how much fun she has each time.
Friends who had looked after Luna overnight in the past have commented the change in her, instead of running around sniffing their house for two hours (!) and not settling, she recently arrived, briefly sniffed around and then relaxed on her bed. Such an improvement.
I know when she goes to Metropolis she is always incredibly well looked after and her training and discipline is continued….Luna no longer rushes through doors and is jumping up less so thanks for aiding her training. Your advice has been invaluable!
‘We recently left our four-legged humanoid Vizsla for several months at Metropolis Vizslas for personal reasons…
Being a Vizsla owner meant ‘separation anxiety’ was quite one sided (yes, you guessed it right…our boy was great…)….From weekly ‘selfie’pictures to daily runs to making himself quite at home (literally), we took great comfort in knowing that Robyn ensured his physical and emotional needs were very well catered to!
Being in his 10th Vizsla year, Mossimo is a staunch member of our family, and so I write this support letter to any other Vizsla owners who, for whatever reason, need respite and a fine home, to allow the owners some time to themselves….
Keep up the good work Robyn!
My wife Stella and I are retirees who travel at least twice a year. We have boarded our Vizsla, Basil, with Robyn intermittently for 5 years for periods of time ranging from 1 to 5 weeks. Post Covid we were worried about boarding Basil as he had not left our side for 18 months and separation anxiety was a real concern. However, the environment that Robyn creates for the dogs that board with her ensured that we had nothing to worry about.
When we leave Basil with Robyn he is always happy to run off with her. We leave him with the comfort of knowing that he gets more than adequate exercise and is looked after both physically and emotionally. Not only does Robyn cater to all the unique needs of a Vizsla she puts thought and care into which dogs she boards in the same area based on their sex and personality.
We can enjoy our travels knowing that Basil is having as good a holiday as we are and is being impeccably looked after and that we will be coming home to a happy and healthy Vizsla.
– to feed and medicate our dogs correctly as Robyn has spent years researching feeding and caring for dogs and ensures that everything she does with her dogs is in line with best practice and latest research.
During our dogs’ stays at Metropolis they have had ample opportunity for outside play and a variety of stimulation to keep them occupied. They obviously felt comfortable as they ate well and came home happy and relaxed.
Communication was excellent and we could go away confident that our dogs were in good hands.
I would happily board my dogs there again, in fact they are already booked in for their next stay.
