Echo’s conformation matured after the Avant litter, and in 2014 she had her biggest show win, winning Australian Bred in Group at the Tuggerah Lakes Championship Show in January 2014 just before her 4th birthday, under Mr K Iggleden (Qld).
Echo has always been excellent idiosyncratic companion, with a soft sweet nature and a sense of independence. She has strong hunting instincts, and has retrieved a live young lorikeet (released unharmed after being caught on a fire trail) and unfortunately a couple of red belly black snakes (vet treatment was needed for her after being bitten by one).
She also evidences the strongest vizsla drive for being on high places, and is as happy standing on scaffold ladders as sunbaking on the roof of her kennel. Like Swan, the proof of Echo’s quality and contribution to our kennels is in her offspring.
Postscript: Aged 13 1/2, Echo left us in July 2023 due to renal failure. Stoic til the end, she still loved lying beside Robyn on the sofa, sunbaking at the kitchen table in her armchair, lying under Robyn’s desk, and at night sleeping in her favourite armchair in Robyn’s room. Her unassuming yet observant presence is greatly missed.
